Sneak Peek: Krissy!
I didn't know it prior to the session, but Krissy loves horses! When I found out, I just HAD to try to get some shots of Krissy with a horse--and she loves white horses! I think getting this shot was a dream come true for both of us--an unexpected surprise for Krissy, and I was thrilled to get something I like so much because the horses were were not exactly being the most cooperative!
Krissy was such a supermodel! During her session it was not only cold--it was windy too--but she was such a good sport and did awesome! It took quite awhile to warm back up after being outside in the cold in short-sleeves for so long!
I really like the fly-away hair in this one though, so the weather did work in our favor from time-to-time!
I wanted to do something special with this one that I have been loving the look of lately. I call it porcelain skin. Isn't it great?
Speaking of special, Senior portraits are such a special thing! You only get them once in your entire life at such a special time--in preparation for graduation from high school and as you prepare to embark on a whole new journey and phase of life! I always feel so lucky whenever I have a senior session, and I love capturing the personality of each individual senior at this time in their lives to create something that will last FOREVER. Whether you are thirty-something or long gone gray, your senior pictures will always represent how you FEEL on the inside, even after your outer appearance has changed, and your future posterity will be able to treasue the images long after you are gone.
Krissy, thanks for letting me share something SO special with you. I really enjoyed meeting you and had such a wonderful time taking your pictures! They look GREAT and I can't wait for you to see the rest!

Meet Katie!
This one makes me smile!
As an artist, I am constantly changing, devloping and discovering what I like and want to achieve with my art, but one thing about it has never changed--I LOVE capturing the most genuine of smiles, laughter, and huge cheese-eating grins. Such shots aren't exactly the thing most seniors want their portraits of, but my personal favorite pictures are always those nose-scruching, eyes-squinting, all teeth-showing, head-tossed back, happy eyes twinkling shots. Whether you think they are the best likeness or not, I always think they are; they always make me smile.
These two are taken here on the ranch--with the little creek waterfall and the old root cellar. I really liked the color pop of this turquoise shirt. I loved every single shot of Katie in that shirt!
Finally, I had to add this one because I LOVE the feeling it captures. I am going get a big one to put on display. Hummm...framed or gallery-wraped?Saturday, October 24, 2009
Meet Devin!
The other two hats she brought back from a trip to Europe!
As beautiful and talented this girl is on the outside, I was most impressed by who she is. She is so genuine and there is just something about her that makes everything more exciting. Devin, thanks for making my work feel like play!

Sneak Peek: Lacy
Lacy's photoshoot took place right near her home where there is a nice variety of backgrounds to work with. I got this one with her home in the background for a 'girl next door' feel.
Fun & contemporary....love it.
...and in case you don't already know, I have a door fetish--and those red heels were the perfect accessory!
Lacy was happily willing to get in the creek, and I am so glad. I knew I wanted a shot of her in the water with her fun summer skirt, and the end result was even better than the one I had imagined beforehand in my head!
This shot was just screaming at me to add some modern drama (I texturized, pumped up the exposure, converted to black & white, and added a swirly-girly embellishment).

Meet Jessica!
After getting our downtown edgy shots, we went over to the park and got some really cute and fun shots. I really love Jessica's expression in this one--the way she scrunches up her nose!
..and the composition of this one is really phenomenal--the cyclist in the background adds the perfect touch.
Congratulations Jessica, and good luck!
