Sneak Peek: Krissy!

Meet Krissy, a senior at Melba High School! I just LOVE this beautiful shot of Krissy--it is my favorite from the session!
I didn't know it prior to the session, but Krissy loves horses! When I found out, I just HAD to try to get some shots of Krissy with a horse--and she loves white horses! I think getting this shot was a dream come true for both of us--an unexpected surprise for Krissy, and I was thrilled to get something I like so much because the horses were were not exactly being the most cooperative!

Krissy was such a supermodel! During her session it was not only cold--it was windy too--but she was such a good sport and did awesome! It took quite awhile to warm back up after being outside in the cold in short-sleeves for so long!

I really like the fly-away hair in this one though, so the weather did work in our favor from time-to-time!

I wanted to do something special with this one that I have been loving the look of lately. I call it porcelain skin. Isn't it great?

Speaking of special, Senior portraits are such a special thing! You only get them once in your entire life at such a special time--in preparation for graduation from high school and as you prepare to embark on a whole new journey and phase of life! I always feel so lucky whenever I have a senior session, and I love capturing the personality of each individual senior at this time in their lives to create something that will last FOREVER. Whether you are thirty-something or long gone gray, your senior pictures will always represent how you FEEL on the inside, even after your outer appearance has changed, and your future posterity will be able to treasue the images long after you are gone.

Krissy, thanks for letting me share something SO special with you. I really enjoyed meeting you and had such a wonderful time taking your pictures! They look GREAT and I can't wait for you to see the rest!

Meet Katie!

This brunette beauty is Katie, a
senior at Melba High School.
I am still in shock over this one! You see, Katie's oldest sister Crystal was one of my very first senior sessions back in the days of film when most of my photography was sports/action and I was doing a TON of whitewater rafting! Did you know that is where the name Rafter T Photography came from? Well, here we are with miss Katie, the youngest in her family and I have done senior pictures for all of her siblings!

This one makes me smile!

As an artist, I am constantly changing, devloping and discovering what I like and want to achieve with my art, but one thing about it has never changed--I LOVE capturing the most genuine of smiles, laughter, and huge cheese-eating grins. Such shots aren't exactly the thing most seniors want their portraits of, but my personal favorite pictures are always those nose-scruching, eyes-squinting, all teeth-showing, head-tossed back, happy eyes twinkling shots. Whether you think they are the best likeness or not, I always think they are; they always make me smile.

These two are taken here on the ranch--with the little creek waterfall and the old root cellar. I really liked the color pop of this turquoise shirt. I loved every single shot of Katie in that shirt!

Finally, I had to add this one because I LOVE the feeling it captures. I am going get a big one to put on display. Hummm...framed or gallery-wraped?

Meet Devin!

Meet Devin! This blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty is a senior at Columbia High School.

WOW, hunh? Green has never looked so dangerously dramatic!

There is so much I could tell you about the fabulous September saturday I spent with Devin and her family. It was SO MUCH FUN! We escaped to my favorite ghost-town getaway up in the mountains and made a fun day of sight seeing and photo shooting with rustic boardwalks, weathered wood, and chilly creeks.
I had never met Devin prior to the day of her session, but there was something about her I was very familiar with already--her reputation as a phenomenal violinist! I am even trying to convince her to give me a few lessons.

I loved Devin's hats! This rustic Australian hat is a family jewel that paried perfectly with the vintage heriloom jacket.

The other two hats she brought back from a trip to Europe!

As beautiful and talented this girl is on the outside, I was most impressed by who she is. She is so genuine and there is just something about her that makes everything more exciting. Devin, thanks for making my work feel like play!

Sneak Peek: Lacy

This is Lacy, Melba High School Class of 2010 Senior Spokesmodel for Rafter T Photography. Lacy was so much fun to photograph. She has a fun and bubbly personality, but this girl can pull off any type of look for the camera--fun, dramatic, classic, high-fashion, you-name-it--amazing!

This is a gorgeous shot that could easily grace the cover of a magazine.

Lacy's photoshoot took place right near her home where there is a nice variety of backgrounds to work with. I got this one with her home in the background for a 'girl next door' feel.

Fun & contemporary....love it.

...and in case you don't already know, I have a door fetish--and those red heels were the perfect accessory!

Lacy was happily willing to get in the creek, and I am so glad. I knew I wanted a shot of her in the water with her fun summer skirt, and the end result was even better than the one I had imagined beforehand in my head!

This shot was just screaming at me to add some modern drama (I texturized, pumped up the exposure, converted to black & white, and added a swirly-girly embellishment).

At the end of Lacy's shoot, and just for fun, I had her make a bunch of different faces....they made me smile--and I think they'll make you smile too!
Fellow MHS classmates, Lacy will be able to answer questions you might have about taking your Senior portraits with us.
This is what Lacy had to say about her experience, "I absolutely LOVED taking my senior pictures! Tiffany was so nice and alot of fun. She was really easy to work with and she always tried to make sure I was comfortable with whatever shots we were taking. She had so many different ideas for poses that were fun, classy, hip and creative. Tiffany knew what worked best for each background and which of my outfits would look the best. She took time through out my session to show me some frames that we took and they looked AMAZING! I am so glad that I chose to work with Tiffany and Rafter T Photography. She has alot of experience and ideas and I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting great pictures!"

Meet Jessica!

Meet Jessica, this gorgeous girl you see here: And let me illustrate for you how much fun we had during her session...at least THIS much: Jessica is a recent Kuna High School graduate. Not only is she beautiful--she is a stellar soccer player and a complete sweetheart.
We wanted to get some edgy shots in addition to timeless traditional. We had a lot of fun playing around with the painted brick walls in downtown Boise.
It was absolutely impossible to take a bad picture of this girl; I have a ton of favorites and it is REALLY hard to just pick a few to post!
After getting our downtown edgy shots, we went over to the park and got some really cute and fun shots. I really love Jessica's expression in this one--the way she scrunches up her nose!

..and the composition of this one is really phenomenal--the cyclist in the background adds the perfect touch.

Congratulations Jessica, and good luck!

Senior Spotlight--Meet Blake!

Blake just graduated from Melba High School and wants to become an engineer.

Congratulations on Graduation Blake!

Melba Cheerleaders 2009

and a fun shot of the JV girls....
GO MUSTANGS!

Congratulations Kyler!

Melba just had graduation and I wanted to say CONGRATS! He certainly did not look like this 12 years ago when I first met him!
Back then he was about 6!
Not only is Kyler a great guy, he is also a terribly talented rodeoer. If he looks familiar, perhaps you saw him on the front page of the sports section of the newspaper a few weeks ago.
{Front of announcement}
I custom designed these graduation announcements for Kyler. {back of announcement}
They looked great: 5x7 flat press-printed card printed on pear metallic paper with a uv coating.

In fact, I was at someone's house this past week and noticed they had received one. I picked it up off a stack with other graduation announcements and the recipient said, "I really LOVE this one." I got a grin on my face, looked up at her and was able to tell her, "I made it." Then we launched into conversation about getting the horse to photograph so well and what a wonderful guy this Kyler is. Congratulations Kyler and all the other Melba grads!

Jordyn's Fall Session

Remember Jordyn?
Well we got even MORE great shots at her fall photo shoot.
I knew she was going to be wearing a formal dress for one of her outfits, and one of my favorite old locations did not disappoint! Congratulations on Graduation Jordyn and good luck!

Young Women Workshop

In my mind, all other light pales in comparison to the glow of evening sunset. Every now and then as a photographer you just need to play around and have some fun. This was it for me!

Thanks for a great girl's night out, ladies.
